Maple and nuts crispy granola

  • For the granola :
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of canola oil
  • 250 ml (1 cup) of maple syrup
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of vanilla essence
  • 500 ml (2 cups) of oat flakes
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) of mince almonds
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) of pecan nuts into pieces
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) of sesame seeds
  • For garnishing (optional) :
  • 50 ml (2 cups) of nature or vanilla flavored yogurt
  • Small fruits up to your choice (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries...)

  • Preheat oven at 180 C (350 F).
  • In a bowl, mix oil with maple syrup and vanilla. Add oat flakes, almonds, pecans and sesame seeds.
  • Spread the mixture over a baking plate covered with parchment paper. Oven bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until granola is well roasted.
  • Remove from oven and cool down over a grill. If desired, serve with yogurt and fruits. Keep remaining granola at room temperature in a sealed container.
