Grilled asparagus with butter and walnuts

  • 650 gr (1½ pound) of fresh trimmed asparagus
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) of melted butter
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of honey
  • Salt and pepper
  • 160 ml (2/3 cup) of walnuts kernels
  • Bread crumbs, nature

  • Preheat oven at 375 °F (190 °C). Set asparagus tips over an oven safe plate. Set aside.
  • Mix melted butter and honey in a small bowl. Brush half of the mix over asparagus, up to taste. Put the plate in the oven.
  • Broil for 7 to 8 minutes up to your taste and also depending on the thickness of the asparagus.
  • Meanwhile, put walnuts in a large bowl with the remaining melted butter with honey preparation. Mix a bit and set aside.
  • Remove plate from oven, turn asparagus over, then sprinkle with a bit of bread crumbs. Divide the nuts and the melted butter mix over the asparagus and replace the plate in the oven. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes or till nuts gets well colored and the asparagus, are well cooked and crispy.
  • Remove from oven. Divide asparagus with nuts in four large dishes. Serve right away and accompany with crusty fresh bread.
