Oven-baked asparagus gratin

  • 500 g (1 pound) of asparagus
  • 45 ml (3 tablespoons) of olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of panko breadcrumbs
  • 250 ml (1 cup) of grated cheese (your favourite!)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Mix olive oil and finely chopped garlic in a bowl. Add the asparagus and coat them with the mixture.
  • Place asparagus on a baking plate covered with parchment paper. Season with salt and pepper. Cook asparagus for about 10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, until tender but still crisp.
  • Sprinkle grated cheese over the asparagus and add panko breadcrumbs over the cheese.
  • Turn oven to broil and broil cheese until golden brown.
