Chicken sauté with three peppers and bacon

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of canola oil
  • 3 minced peppers of various colors
  • 4 sliced green onions
  • 650 g (about 1½ lb) of chicken cubes
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) of honey
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) of tamari
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sambal oelek
  • Salt up to taste
  • 8 cooked and minced bacon slices

  • In a pan or a wok, heat halt the oil at medium heat. Cook peppers and green onions for 2 to 3 minutes while stirring. Set in a plate.
  • In the same pan, pour remaining oil. Cook chicken cubes for 5 to 6 minutes while stirring.
  • Add honey and cook for 1 to 2 minutes while stirring, until chicken caramelise.
  • Add tamari and sambal oelek. Bring to a boil, then set vegetables into the pan. Salt and heat 1 minute.
  • Heat bacon 30 seconds in the micro-wave.
  • When serving, spread chicken sauté with bacon.
