  • 250 ml (1 cup) of sieved flour
  • 10 ml (2 teaspoons) of baking powder
  • 45 ml (3 tablespoons) of sugar
  • 1,25 ml (3 tablespoons) of vegetable fat (Crisco)
  • 1 egg
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) of milk
  • 750 ml (3 cups) of strawberries sliced in two
  • 500 ml (2 cups) of blackberries or blueberries

Preparation

  • Preheat oven at 180 ºC (350 ºF).
  • In a bowl, mix flour with baking powder, 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sugar and salt.
  • Add fat with the help of two knifes.
  • Add egg and milk and stir with a fork. Stir until obtining a semi-liquid paste.
  • In a round plate of 23 cm (9 inches) or in a pan, spread fruits until mid-height of the plate. Spray with rest of sugar.
  • A spoon at a time, lay paste of about 2,5 cm (1 inch).
  • Oven bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until paste browns.
