Ingredients

  • 400 g extra lean ground beef
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) nutritional yeast
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) ketchup
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg
  • ½ 250 g package (1,5 cups) Les Cultures de Chez Nous sliced leeks
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp ) brown sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • Mix all the ingredients, except the brown sugar, in a large bowl then pour the mixture into a bread pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake for 50 minutes.

Nutritional note :

Nutritional yeast is a food in itself. Often used in vegetarian diets, it provides an important amount of vitamin B12 and thiamine.  It s taste is reminiscent  of cheese and nuts. It can be used as a substitute for bread crumbs, for cooking certain dishes au gratin, or on pizzas and popcorn. Nutritional yeast is available in the natural or biological products sections of most grocery stores.
