Ingredients

  • 1 sliced white bread
  • 1/4 (115 gr) of cream cheese, low in fats
  • 500 ml (2 cups) of fresh blueberries
  • 8 whisked eggs
  • 375 ml (1 1/2 cup) of milk
  • 65 ml (1/4 cup) of maple syrup
  • 65 ml (1/4 cup) of melted butter

Preparation

  • Preheat oven at 350 °F (180 °C)
  • After removing crust from the bread, dice into 1 inch (2,5 cm), which will make aproximatively 2,5 l (10 cups). Dice cream cheese, which will make 250 ml (1 cup).
  • grease an oven safe plate of 9 x 9 x 2 inches (23 x 23 x 5 cm). Lay half of bread cubes on the plate. Spray diced cream cheese and half of the blueberries. Cover with bread cubes and all other blueberries.
  • In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, maple syrup and butter. Coat carefully with the dry mixture.
  • Bake till a knife put into it gets out clean, so for about an hour. If the sides burns too fast, cover with aluminium paper.
  • Cut into squares and serves with maple syrup, if desired.
